"I wanted our first season's theme to be the seed of change in the way we think of eco issues relating to art and theatre. I founded 9TTC to
provide impassioned artists with a platform to challenge social issues and ask questions through our work. We need to incorporate the
environment and eco-friendly practices into all areas of our lives-- including theatre." --Jeff Burroughs, Artistic Director & Founder

9Thirty Theatre Company (9TTC) is ecstatic to introduce itself to the NY theater community as one of the first eco-friendly theater companies in the country, a platform for raw and vibrant talent to express itself while providing a headquarters for the collision of environmental causes and art.
New Wordsmiths Forge a Series celebrates 9TTC and showcases the fresh talents of three emerging playwrights with this reading series. Jeff Burroughs's At the End of the Day, is full of charm and humor that follows old friends reuniting, who must confront their past to grow into their future. Michael Anderson's The Cartoon Plays is three one act comedies filled with whacky antics, scatological humor, grotesque violence, and socio-political undertones. Sarah Haught's Ordinary Lives examines growing up with old ideas in a new time via Rebecca, who is trapped somewhere between the hope she once had for the future and the reality of the direction her life is taking. This is your chance to discover three diversely different playwrights who offer a variety of styles.
At the End of the Day reads Friday, May 23rd at 8pm and Sunday, May 25th at 3pm. Ordinary Lives reads Friday, May 23rd at 3pm and Saturday, May 24th at 8pm. The Cartoon Plays reads Saturday, May 24th at 3pm and Sunday, May 25th at 8pm.
